Abstract The thesis investigated the current situation regarding the internationalization of the Master’s Programmes at Karelia University of Applied Sciences and found out the development ideas. The thesis was implemented as action research which contained present state analysis, benchmarking for the other Finnish universities of applied sciences and workshops for the different groups of staff members. The results indicated that students are somewhat unsatisfied with the existing state of the internationalization of the master programmes. Some blames concerned the content of studies, exchange possibilities and lack of foreign visitors/lecturers. Half of the teachers declared that they have never been on teacher exchange abroad or received a foreign lecturer on their classes. As a result of the workshops many development ideas were created and at least as important result was to raise discussion about the importance and the research topic. Answers of the other universities of applied sciences gave some comparative material and new ideas for the development work. Since results revealed defects on lacking international aspects of a content of studies, it would be interesting to make a research on internationalization of the curricula of master programmes at Karelia University of Applied Sciences....

In many organizations, workplace communication has been under constant development. In addition to the message or the content of communication, organizations need variable communication methods, tools and forums. Effective internal communication supports strategic goals of the organization. An organization does not necessarily need a separate communication strategy, yet communication must be well planned and managed. Well-designed communication ensures that information is in the right place at the right time. A good communication plan also makes it easier to manage exceptional situations. The purpose of this thesis was to look at the current communication methods of the tar-get organization, as well as to study the perceptions of the personnel in different units. The survey examined the staff's experiences of the current state of internal communication, communication channels and access to information. The study resulted in a communication development plan and a new electronic communication platform. According to the research results, the organization has good practices and uses modern communication channels. However, differences were observed between different units of the organisation in the operating models and experiences. In order to improve communication, it is important to define common principles and the main channels for communication within the whole organisation....
